I got a text from Ryan Mead the other day telling me the news (see above) that Alexander Abreu, director of Havana D’ Primera and composer of “Mi Música,” watched the a cappella version of his song, choreographed by Ryan and shared it twice. He said “Les comparto esto porque creo q es una de las versiones mas lindas de Mi Musica que he podido escuchar y mirar” (translation: I am sharing this because I believe it is one of the most beautiful versions of Mi Musica that I have seen and heard.”
I well remember weeks of work leading up to this performance (if I recall correctly, we also did it at a few other venues). Ryan says “Thanks to Jordan Wilson, Jenevieve Francisco, and Alexa Morales for their stellar performances making this piece a reality.” Man, I would love to dance salsa again, wouldn’t you?! Never take social dancing for granted again!!!
